The Chinese player dominated the match as he led the first frame 26-0. He had a good chance to consolidate his position when on 48 but would settle for a 79-0 score and go one ahead..

Ding started the second frame and led it 5-0. Gunnell had an opportunity to fight back, but lady luck wasn't on his side when he missed a pot, and saw the Cue ball skew into the bottom-right pocket. The miscue left Ding with a good chance clear up and he gave his opponent no chance taking the second frame 80 points to 12.

From there on in it was all too easy for Ding Junhui as Gunnel continued to fluff his lines. The Chinese had a break of 47 and made a mistake, throwing Gunnell back into the action 58-7 down. The Englishman missed his shot and promptly conceded the match 3 frames to none.

China's Ding Junhui is through to the next round of the World Open Snooker
Championships in Scotland after cantering past England's Adrian Gunnell in the
third round.
