Conference for European National Coaches opens

The men in charge of leading Europe's national sides have gathered in Madrid, Spain. UEFA President Michel Platini officially opened the 9th UEFA Conference for European National Coaches on Monday.

The conference gathers UEFA's 53 national team coaches and technical directors to discuss different views, trends and issues of the game.

In the opening session news conference on Monday, Platini says UEFA will support the national team competitions.

In the wake of the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, the coaches analyzed the competition as well as the performance of the European teams.

Before the opening ceremony of the conference, Spain coach Vicente del Bosque said he understood the interest of Real Madrid Jose Mourinho in training the Portuguese national team...but recognizes the difficulties involved.

The UEFA members will have the opportunity to present their key findings on Wednesday.
