The US earned their place in the final of the 2010 FIBA Women's World Basketball Championships with a stirring victory over Spain in the Czech Republic.

The US got off to a strong start. Tamika Catchings nailed a 3-pointer 14 seconds into the game. With less than 4 minutes left, Spain cut the deficit back to 11-5, but the US were just getting started. Another 3-pointer by Catchings would see the US end the first quarter the 29-16 ahead.

Spain got to within 12 points early in the second, but another Taurasi 3-pointer and Sue Bird's pull-up jumper extended the lead back to 17 by the end of the second.

The US reached 100 points for the 17th time in world championship play in the fourth. They finally took the victory with 36 points advantages and advanced to the finals for their 8th championship.
