Schalke's Bundesliga woes returned to haunt as they slipped to defeat on the road at Nurnberg.

After a scoreless first half, Schalke found themselves a man down just eight minutes into the second half when Jarmaine Jones was shown his second caution for colliding with Nurnberg keeper Raphael Schafer.

The hosts took full advantage and grabbed the lead in the 62nd minute after Schieber crossed for Mike frantz, who had a simple task of firing past Neuer. Nuremberg 1-0.

Schalke drew level 16 minutes from time with Klaas Jan Huntelaar picked up a Jefferson Farfan pass and drilling in a left-footed shot. tied 1-all.

Nurnberg captain Andreas Wolf looked to have spurned the hosts' final chance to win the match when he struck the post in the 83rd minutes, but seconds later he was presented with another chance from a corner and this time made no mistake with a cool finish 2-1.
