The NBA pre-season tour is now in Spain where the LA Lakers will face Barcelona. As the pace of the training picks up - it was LA who were busy preparing for the encounter a little over 48 hours before tip off.

Plenty of fans were on hand to see their NBA heroes in action, with the Lakers aiming to bounce back from a disappointing 111-92 defeat to the Minnesota Timberwolved in London. The game with Barcelona represents something of a homecoming for Pau Gasol. He enjoyed an impressive fourth quarter in London, but finished with just seven points and three rebounds, so will be looking for plenty more when he faces his home team. Fellow Laker Derek Fisher was thrilled to be in Barcelona.

Derek Fisher from LA Lakers said, "It's totally different than just about anything at least that I have experienced in the NBA. You know every time you play in a pre-season, you know you're playing other NBA teams so it'll be an experience like no other. And playing against FC Barcelona, here in Barcelona, for me it will be the closest Olympic experience that I've had in my career and I think it will be a lot of fun and that there will be a lot of energy in the city."

Pau Gasol from LA Lakers said, "There is a possibility of winning against FC Barcelona, but that might not be such a happy experience for me. We are going through a bit of a low, performance wise, with some important players injured. FC Barcelona, on the other hand, are at a good performance level themselves."
