Gymnastics World Championship: Chinese men's team first in qualification

World and Olympic champion China have grabbed the team lead as men's qualification concluded at the 2010 Gymnastics World Championships in Rotterdam, Netherlands.

China competed in the sixth of 10 qualification subdivision. The competition starting with the vault.

Teng Haibin's solid performance, leading off the team with a strong first attempt boosted his team members' confidence and China came in first in the vault.

The second competition, the parallel bars was the Chinese team's strongest event. The Chinese gymnasts also coming in first in the event.

Although Lu Bo made uncharacteristic errors on the pommel horse...on the rings Yan Mingyong and Chen Yibing stepped up, recording the highest points, handing China the first in men's qualification.

China topped Japan by barely more than a point. The US qualified in third, just a fraction ahead of Great Britain.
