Yao Ming gives back with "NBA cares" Program

After a pair of pre-season games here in China, Yao Ming and the Houston Rockets have returned to the United States to prepare for the upcoming NBA season. But it's not all business, Yao took some time off the court on Tuesday to give a little bit back to the community who supports the team so well.

After an early morning practice with the team, getting ready for Thursday's pre-season game against the Spurs...Yao traded in his basketball for a paint brush.

Yao, taking part in the "NBA Cares" program...put his 7'6 frame to good use, helping a Houston area family give their home a facelift. A big part of the NBA Cares program is assisting the elderly, disabled and people suffering from natural disasters repair their houses.
