Heat roll past Magic, 96-70 in home opener

Fans of the Miami Heat had this day circled on the calendar since this year's schedule was released. The new-look Miami Heat opening their season against the Orlando Magic.

Early on, the Magic's big man, Dwight Howard was doing his part to lift Orlando to a big early season win over the Magic...Howard, in command in the post.

Howard finished with 19 points, seven rebounds, two steals and a block.

Halfway through the second...Orlando gets an injury scare. Vince Carter's shot is blocked...and he goes down hard. Vince, suffering a back injury on the play. Orlando, behind 51-45 at half time.

Howard had a short night though, he ran into foul trouble...called here for the offensive foul, Superman would bow out of the game after playing only 29 minutes.

With Howard in trouble, the Heat opened it up. Lebron James with the little pull up jumper in the lane. That gives Miami a 14 point lead. James had 15 points and seven assists.

Later in the Q, a little showtime...Dwyane Wade with the alley-oop to Udonis Haslem. He throsws it down as the Heat extend the lead to 20.

This one, would be all Miami...they run away with the game led by Dwyane Wade's 26. They easily take their home opener, 96-70. The Heat improve to 2-1 on the season. The Magic fall to 1-1.
