China edge Kyrgyzstan 2-1

The Asian Games football competition is already underway. China looked to fight back after a loss to Japan, in its second match of the tournament against Kyrgyszstan.

Kyrgyzstan got off to a strong start with a powerful free kick.

The Central Asian side grabbed a 1-0 lead. China dropped behind early for the second time in as many games.

China got its best look just before the break.

Li Kai took a pass and tried from close range, but the ball hit the cross bar....it was still 1-0 Kyrgyzstan at halftime.

But China's Lu Wenjun finally turned it around in the 82nd. He headed the ball into the net...1-1.

And at 91 minutes...another great chance for China. -Substitute Zhang Jian tried to get the ball past the Kyrgyzstan goalkeeper twice...but he was denied by the crossbar both times. The match was still drawn at 1.

The drama would finish in injury time.

Wu Xi slammed a shot from outside the box...and found the back of the net. China sealed a 2-1 victory at the 93rd minute. China has 3 points in group A, and will meet Malaysia in its next match.
