The countdown to the 16th Asian Games has reached its final day. People in the host city of Guangzhou have celebrated the end of the journey for the Games' torch relay.
The symbolic flame spent its last day on the road at Guangzhou University City. The distance is 15.2 kilometers. The first torch bearer was Olympic champion speed skater Yang Yang. Fans lined the streets to see the athletes and cheer the relay. Tennis standout Sun Tiantian, Liu Shiwen from table tennis, other world championship athletes and entertainment pop stars all joined the line on the last day.
But the last torch bearer was an academic hero, Zhong Nanshan. He handed the torch to Vice Mayor of Guangzhou City Cao Jianliao, and they joined forces to light the torch relay's final community cauldron.
