China makes 1-2 finish in women's 10m platform

Chinese divers lived up to expectations. They staged gold and silver medal-winning performances on the women's 10-meter platform.

China's Wang Hao stepped-up first. She placed near the top in the preliminaries, easing to the final in second place. And Wang collected 426.10 points in five jumps to claim a silver in the final.

But rising star Hu Yadan topped the standings going into the final round. This was her final jump. She chose a difficulty factor of 3.2. It wasn't a flawless performance, but Hu still got the points she needed. She scored 89.60 on the jump and hit a combined 436.70 to claim the gold medal. Hu grabbed 10-point scores seven times in the final competition.

Chinese duo win men's kayak double 1000m gold

The Chinese duo of Huang Zhipeng and Xu Haitao took part in the men's Kayak Double 1000 meters. They fell behind at the start, but did not get in a hurry and built confidence as the race went on. The pair caught-up little-by-little and the race drew closer in the second half. Huang and Xu ran in third place with 500 meters to go. They closed the gap to the first place team from Japan to only a half-second. Huang Zhipeng and Xu Haitao finally overtook not just the Japanese duo, but the Kazakstan duo as well. They crossed the finish line first in 3 minutes 14.699 seconds for the Men's Kayak Double 1000 meter gold medal.

China wins women's kayak four 500m gold

Chinese teammates Wang Feng, Yu Lamei, Ren Wenjun and Wu Yanan combined in the women's Kayak Four 500 meter event. The Chinese team was strong from the start. The quartet extended its lead in the second half of the race, and crossed first in 1:34:440. Uzbekistan was second and Japan finished third.
