Football teams traveling to Valencia over the festive period should be in for a treat. They gift wrapped Osasuna two goals and a point as the sides fought out a six goal thriller in Spains La Liga. However, it was the home side who took comand of the game with 24 minutes gone when.

Juan Mata found a way around five Osasuna defenders to deliver a ball onto the boot of Roberto Soldado who applied a simple finish for the opener.

A training ground move with some added luck produced Valencia's second 8 minutes later. Marius Stankevicius was in the right place at the right time to half volley home on the turn. The home side were cruising at two up.

But inexplicably, Francisco Juanfran scored a spectacular header, just at the wrong end of the pitch. His looping attempted clearence crept under the bar and Osasuna were back in the contest.

The visitors joy was short lived following more poor defensive work at a corner. Joaquin sent over another delicious delivery and Aritz Aduriz turned his head and drove the nail for a 3-1 lead heading into the break.

Keepers can be hero's in the space of 90 minutes. Cesar, however, wanted to be the pantomime villain on sixty miuntes. His flap at a cross fell to Miguel Flano - he couldn't believe his luck and tapped home Osasuna's second of the night making three two.

Then, after four failed attempts to clear the danger, and with three minutes left, Carlos Aranda found a way through a crowd of bodies to fire in the equaliser. That made it 3-3 and Valecia will be kicking themselves at throwing away three points.

To the standings. Barcelona restored the champions' two-point lead over Real Madrid at the top, with Barcelona 40 points, and Real Madrid 38. Espanyol have 28 points, three ahead of fifth-placed Valencia after 3-3 draw.
