We turn to the semi-finals of badminton's Sudirman World Team Championship. And China and South Korea were battling for a spot in the final.

First was mixed double, in which Xuchen and Ma Jin were in a tough fight. The duo coming back from an 20-18 deficit to win the third set 23-22. This point signifying how close this match was. And pure jubilation from the Chinese team after picking up the win.

In men's singles, world No.1 Lin Dan didn't have the greatest start and trailed 11-7. But he would turn things around and went on an 11-1 run, That won him the first set 21-16. Lin took complete control in round 2 for China's second point.

The third match-up was different. The Korean world No.1 pair of Duo Lee Long-Da and Zheng Zai-Cheng lost the first set. But they would gather themselves and take the next two sets and provide some hope for South Korea.

Then it was onto women's singles, and China's Wang Shixian meeting Pei Yan-shu who lost in their previous three encounters. The Chinese star gave little chance to the rival, winning two straight sets 21-19, 21-16 to earn China a 3-1 semi final victory, and provide head coach Li Chunbo with a reason to smile.
