More soccer action now, as Canada and Guadeloupe took to the pitch for a Group C match at this year's CONCACAF Gold Cup.

Jean-Luc Lambourde put Guadeloupe at a disadvantage in the fourth minute when he received a red card following a lunging challenge on Canada's Will Johnson. But despite having an extra man, Canada failed to score in the first half and the game remained 0-0 at half-time.

Into the second half, Canada was awarded a penalty after Stephane Zubar brought down Ali Gerba in the area. Dwayne de Rosario took the spot kick and beat goalkeeper Franck Grandel to give Canada a 1-0 lead in the 51st minute. Cananda defended the slender lead to beat Guadeloupe 1-0, their first win in Group C.

Panama beat USA 2-1

In the same group, the United States took on Panama. In the 19th minute, after Panama's free kick was blocked, the ball was crossed in towards Armando Cooper. His header was stopped, but Luis Tejada slid in to score from the rebound. Cooper directed his header on goal and although keeper Tim Howard stopped, Clarence Goodson couldn't deny Tejada the goal.

Panama were on the attack again in the 35th minute when Blas Perez, going after the ball, was brought down by Tim Ream inside the USA penalty area. The referee immediately pointed to the spot. Gabriel Gomez stepped up to take the spot kick and beat Howard.

Clarence Goodson's diving header in the 66th minute made up for his earlier gaffe and pulled the tournament hosts back to within a goal of their opponents. Time ran out for the Americans though, and it was a shock 2-1 defeat to Panama. The Panamanians sit on top of the Group C standings with six points - three more than both the USA and Canada.
