China took on arch rivals South Korea in the East Asian Basketball Championship in Nanchang, Jiangxi Province. China suffered two defeats to South Korea in the same event in 2009. This year's Chinese squad devoid on NBA players like Yao Ming and Yi Jianlian, looked to get a revenge on home turf.

China got off to a sluggish start, but deep in the opening quarter, Zhang Bo hit a triple, as China battled back to make it 10-all. On a fast break, Zhang nailed another three at the buzzer, China had a 5 point lead, heading into the second frame.

Midway through the second quarter, Yi Li lays in a basket, China extending its lead to 9 points. Yi would come up with the theft -- drives to the rim, he sinks another bucket, China withstood a challenge by South Korea, and was holding a narrow lead.

Midway through third, China began to pull away again, Mo Ke banked one in, China went in front by 12 and the home side never looked back.

China would hold on for a 61-54 win, claiming their first victory over South Korea in two years. China progresses to the semifinals of the event, which is also the qualifying tournament for the Asian Championship.
