Corinthians beat Abel Braga's Fluminense 2-0

After seeing out his contract with Al Jazira in Abu Dhabi, Abel Braga began his second spell in charge of defending Brazilian league champions Fluminense on Sunday. They were in tough however, against unbeaten Corinthians.

Corinthians, would open the scoring early, sixth minute, and Danilo's cross is neatly met by the diminutive Willian. Fluminense. His header finds the bottom corner to make it 1-0 Corinthians.

Fluminense almost equalised in the 24th minute. Defender Gum got his head on the corner but Julio Cesar pulled off a smart save.

Corinthians were then awarded a penalty shortly before the half-hour mark. Leandro Euzebio was adjudged to have grappled Corinthians striker Liedson and received a booking. Willian made no mistake from 12 metres.

A free-kick nearly gave Fluminense a foothold in the match three minutes after half-time. Souza's strike evaded forwards and defenders alike and Cesar had to palm the ball to safety.

Moments later, the home 'keeper again got down well to deny Fluminense as Corinthians ruin the return of Braga, taking it 2-0.
