Show jumping as the International Equestrian Federation World Cup is making a series of stops in Beijing. The China League will take place in August. About 45 riders will compete at the event.

The FEI Show Jumping championship began in 1979, and has held competitions in 14 regions around the world. The China League is now the 15th area to join the circuit. Riders from a dozen countries and regions will come to Beijing for the China League, which will be held August 27th and 28th.

Two additional events will be held, one in late September and the other in mid-October. China's top 30 riders will participate. Competitors build up points during events to qualify for the World Cup in the Netherlands in April. Organizers are adding Beijing to the schedule because they feel interest in the sport has grown since the Olympics took place in the capital in 2008.
