Spain dismantle Autralia 5-1 at FIFA U20 World Cup

Excellence in football is a proven fact in Spain. The juniors showed why they are favored to match the senior team's World Cup triumph a year ago, as they notched a huge victory over Australia in the FIFA Under-20 World Cup.

Spain got its first goal less than a minute into the match. Sergi Roberto's lightning strike put the Spaniards in front. Then it became a solo show for striker Alvaro Vazquez. His effort made him the man of the match.

The talented forward scored a hat-trick within 14 minutes, Vazquez gave Spain a convincing 4-0 lead over the Aussies. The Socceroos scored what proved to be a consolation goal midway through the first half. Then, Sergio Canales completed the Spanish thrashing with a spot kick. Spain wins 5-1 and moves to the knockout stage with three wins from three games.

Ecuador overturn Costa Rica 3-0

Ecuador defeated Costa Rica to grab second place in Group C. Edson Montano found the net after just 82 seconds and Marlon De Jesus scored twice, Ecuador rockets to a 3-0 win.

Nigaeria overcome Saudi Arabia 2-0

Nigeria's already advanced and finished in first place in Group D with a victory over Saudi Arabia. Ahmed Musa and Olarenwaju Kayode scored goals in each half for the winners.

Guatemala edge Croatia 1-0

Guatemala is providing the biggest shock of the tournament so far. The Central Americans qualified as one of the best third-place teams despite winning only one match. Marvin Ceballos' 81st minute score gave Guatemala a 1-0 victory over Croatia.
