China's Qin Kai, Lin Jin dive to gold in men's 3m synchro

In Shenzhen, China's Universiade diving team is picking up right where the National team left off at the World Aquatic Championships in Shanghai.

After China went 10-for-10 in Shanghai, the team of Qin Kai and Lin Jin, winning the first diving gold up for offer in Shenzhen earlier this evening in the men's synchro 3m.

Multiple world champions Qin and Lin, held a healthy lead after four dives thanks to their almost flawless execution. However, the duo would stumble in the fifth of the six rounds of the final, and this error, put their gold hope in danger.

But, the Chinese pair would get a reprieve as their closest challengers from Japan also made an error in their fifth dive. And, Qin and Lin would bring the gold home in impressive fashion with a solid final dive. With a margin of 34 points, the pair picked up China's first gold in diving.
