Fellow league title contender Beijing Guoan hosted Chendu Shefield. Wang Changqing opened scoring the for Beijing 7 minutes after break. Then, Zhou Ting responded off a defelcted spot kick to slot in another goal. He was the quickest to the ball and it was 2-0.

The visitors cut the margin in half, but Xue Liang sealed it for Beijing with a spectacular free kick, Beijing keeps the pressure on Guangzhou.

Elsewhere on the day, Jiangsu defeated Shandong for the first time in the club's history, while Changchun overcame a sluggish Shanghai side. Henan beat Hangzhou, and Qingdao and Tianjin were each held to a draw.

And in the standings, Guangzhou still holds a comfortable 11 point cushion over second-place Beijing. Shandong and Liaoning are fighting over third place right now. Jiangsu and Changchun will have to work harder if they wish to make it to the top four and book a ticket for the next season's AFC Champions League. Shaanxi, Tianjin, Hangzhou and Qingdao complete the current top 10.
