Soldado hat trick leads Valencia to victory

With the players strike over, the new season of Spain's La Liga kicked off on Saturday. And the opening day of play, bringing a thriller between Valencia and Racing Santander.

Valencia, would open the scoring in the first minute, as Roberto Soldado pounces on the rebound, he tucks it home to make it 1-nil. The start of a big day for Soldado.

Five minutes later though, Soldado would help Santander tie it up. He ends up heading the corner into his net, the failed clearance, tying it up at 1's.

Santander, would take the lead. Lautaro Acosta able to convert in the thirteenth minute to make it 2-1.

Santander, would then go up by two in the 56th minute, as Adrian Gonzalez tracks down the loose ball and finishes to make it 3-1.

Just over a minute later though, Valencia strikes back. Adil Rami's header, off the corner, bringing Valencia back within one.

Valencia, would then increase the pressure on Santander,a couple of great chances...with the best coming in the 73rd minutes as Jonas

And that would set the stage for some late heroics from Soldado. A brilliant little touch from Jonas, springs the Spanish striker, and he makes no mistake to tie the game at 3 in the 88th minute.

And only two minutes later, Soldado would provide the winner, converting from in close to complete his hat trick and the 4-3 come from behind win for Valencia.
