China draws with DPRK 0-0 at Olympic Qualification

At the women's Asian Zone Qualifying tournament for the 2012 Olympics, China, opening their tournament with a nil-nil draw against South Korea. The host nation’s second game, coming against the DPRK.

China, adjusting their lineup following the first match against South Korea, which finished 0-0. Veteran Han Duan and Xu Yuan, starting at forward. They matched up well with each other, and Xu Yuan's had a couple of good chances in the first half, although they did not turn in to goals.

The DPRK, the subject of target testing after five DPRK players tested positive for a banned anabolic steroid at the World Cup in Germany last month. Two players also tested positive before their final group game against Columbia on 8 July.

The DPRK would start to find a few chances in the second half...but neither side would break the deadlock. This one ending nil-nil. A second straight scoreless draw leaves China on two points, in fourth place of the tournament.
