Former World Series MVP Manny Ramirez was arrested on Monday following a domestic dispute at his South Florida home. He has been charged with battery.

A police report claims Ramirez and his wife Juliana were arguing in their bedroom when he allegedly slapped her in the face, causing her to hit her head on the headboard. Juliana says she was afraid the altercation would escalate and that's why she called police. Ramirez denies hitting his wife, and claims she hit her head after he nudged her.

Ramirez played for four teams in his major league career and was considered one of the game's best. He signed with the Boston Red Sox in 2000, and helped the team win two World Series, and was named MVP during one of those championship runs. The 12-time All-Star retired in April after testing positive for a performance-enhancing substance.
