In women’s basketball, the Beijing team has wrapped up a 12-day training camp in Canada. The team took part in a basketball exchange program at Cape Breton University, in lovely Sydney, Nova Scotia. Among the squad was a new face -- South Korea’s, Kim Young Ok.

The 37-year-old guard brings loads of experience to the team. She was named the MVP of the 2005 Women’s Pro Basketball Championship final. It was that year she led her South Korean club team to the championship. The 5-foot-four inch point guard recently played for the KB Stars in the Korean women’s domestic league. Beijing’s coach believes she will be an asset to the team.

Kim Young Ok said, "I’m 37-years-old, but I never stopped training. So I have kept myself in good shape. I think I’m even more competitive than some younger players on the court. I think Beijing’s fans will be satisfied with my play."

Xu Limin, head coach, said, "People may doubt her because of her age. But as far as I can see, she has adjusted very well, and she can use her experience to off-set the speed of younger players."
