Hungarian football hero dies

The only Hungarian to win the European Footballer of the Year, Florian Albert, has died following complications after heart surgery.

The former Ferencvaros forward, who turned 70 in September, won Europe’s top individual award in 1967. He was capped 75 times for his country, scoring 31 goals. He was also joint top scorer at the 1962 World Cup with four goals.
