CBA reigning champions, Guangdong, took on Qingdao in a pre-season game hoping to continue with its winning form from its first pre season game against Shanghai.

Guangdong, wearing blue, had a slow start with some of the younger, less experienced team members taking to the court first. Applying the pressure, Qingdao quickly jumped to 6-0 lead. Guangdong’s Zhou Peng notched two consecutive points to narrow the gap.

Guangdong’s James Singleton, with two points here, went on to score 24 in the match. Guangdong’s head coach Li Chunjiang sent on CBA MVP Wang Shipeng. He made his comeback last week against Shanghai missing out on China’s victory in the FIBA Asia Championships. Gradually he helped Guangdong’s come back, scoring 10 points in the match to claim the win, 84-71.
