12-29-2011 15:47 BJT

Chilean football star Alexis Sanchez won a title off the pitch on Wednesday. The Barcelona forward was named ambassador of a healthy living program initiated by the Chilean first lady.

Sanchez was honoured by the first lady Cecilia Morel at the Chilean presidential palace. Titled "choose to live healthy", the program aims to encourage Chileans to eat right, exercise, and to spend time outdoors with their families.

Born in 1988, Sanchez joined Italian side Udinese in 2008 after winning championships at home and in Argentina. He signed with Barcelona earlier this year. Sanchez is the top scorer in the Chilean national team with 12 goals.

The 23-year-old is well known for his dribbling ability and great speed and is now, officially, a role model for all of his countrymen, women and children.
