Chen used some snooker skill to get around the red ball and get enough contact on the black to drop it. Chen finished a 86-point break and won his first frame. In the fourth frame, Chen kept his momentum and beat Ding, 61-28.

Then the players won a frame each, bringing the match down to the last frame. Ding made a lethal mistake when hitting a red ball, and Chen did’t let the chance slip away. He used a break of 68 points to take the frame and the match. Chen beat Ding with a overall score of 4-3.

Chen will next face the winner between Chinese players Yu Delu and Xiao Guodong for the championship, Thursday afternoon.

Ding Junhui said, "Tough I took an early lead, generally speaking, Chen was a better player today. He’s strong in both defense and offence, and he was in good form today. So it was very hard for me."

Chen Feilong said, "I’m satisfied about my performance. Even myself can not have imagined that I could play at such a level. I can almost give myself a five. "
