CBA: Beijing beat Xinjiang 101-100

The action took between Beijing Ducks and Xinjiang Flying Tigers on Wednesday. The Capital club, battling through a rough stretch of late, as they had lost 7 of their last 8 games heading into this one.

Stephon Marbury and the Ducks, looked to avoid a fifth consecutive loss. But it was the home side striking first. Xu Guochong who had 25 on the night led the Flying Tigers to a 24-8 run early in the first quarter.

But Marbury led Beijng to battle back in the second. His lay-up, making it an 8-point game.

Xinjiang opened a 14-point lead early in the third quarter with Xirelijiang knocking down the triple. But Marbury, the former NBA All-Star point guard cut the deficit back to 9 points. And Ji Zhe had 17 points, 11 boards overall, knocking down the triple. Bejing had still 7 points behind.

It was a 2-point game for the Flying Tigers midway through the fourth. Tang Zhengdong extend the lead to 4 points with the lay-up. But Zhai Xiaochuan, who was among the 10 Beijng players finishing with double digit figure, would put the Ducks on top for the first time.

Xinjiang would have the last chance to rally back. But with Mengke Bateer’s 3-point effort bouncing wide from the basket, Beijing held on to beat Xinjiang 101-100, as they snap their four game losing skid.
