The team is made up of the best players from some of China's top teams such as Bayi, Shanghai and Tianjin and will use the early training sessions to gel as a squad.

Head Coach Yu Juemin said the main focus of training at the moment is to help players adjust to each other and build their stamina and strength. Tactics will focus on teamwork initially and the players say they are relishing the opportunity they've been handed as part of the national team.

Hui Ruoqi, spiker of Chinese Women's Volleyball Team, said, "To participate at the Olympics is a dream of nearly every athlete. For me, I'll learn and improve my skills each day, and hopefully I will do my best on the court."
