Serena dismantles Safarova 6-0, 6-1 at Family Circle Cup

Serena Williams looks to be rounding into form with the French Open just around the corner.

The former world number one cruised into the Family Circle Cup final after dismantling world number five Samantha Stosur in the semi-finals. And she would continue that onslaught in the championship final against Lucie Safarova.

Serena looked dominant in her first event on clay this year and easily broke her opponent’s first service game. And her serve was also in top form. She won her last 25 service games in the tournament, and would take the first set 6-love.

This contest was such a mis-match the crowd cheered won the 26th ranked Safarova held her serve to win her first game of the match. But this day belonged to the American steamrolling her opponent 6-0, 6-1 to capture her 40th WTA title.
