Liu Xiang carries China’s hopes in track and field. The 2004 Athens Olympic champion in the 110 hurdles overcame an achilles injury in 2008 to win silver in last year’s World Championships.

After winning the Birmingham Indoor Championships early this year, Liu hopes to cap it off with another Olympic title in London. Liu Xiang said, "The injury is a setback. But I have the determination to overcome it."
