A duel on the track is drawing attention for athletics fans ahead of the London Games. Usain Bolt and Yohan Blake set up another sprint showdown at the Jamiacan Olympic trials on Saturday. They are on pace to produce an encore to a stunning result in Friday’s 100 metre final Sunday night.

Blake ran the fastest 100 in the world this year, and he not only beat, but thoroughly upstaged Bolt in the process Friday night. This time, Blake took part in the second of the three heats in the 200 and looked in very good shape, cruising to victory in a time of 19.93 seconds.

That was just two thousandths off his own 2012 world best of 19.91, set on the same track back in May. Warren Weir pushed Blake all the way to record 19.99 and Julian Forte finished third in 20.40 seconds.

Bolt is the Olympic champion and world record holder in the 200 at 19.19. He sauntered through his final fifty meters while clocking 20.26 saving his strength for Sunday’s final. Bolt seemed to pay special attention to the start of the race, and everyone will be watching his first steps out of the blocks.

A poor start proved to be the difference between Bolt and Blake in the 100 on Friday. Bolt has always considered the longer distance his better event, and he’s confident going into the 200 showdown Sunday.
