The riders contesting the Tour of Qinghai Lake had a bit of an easier day on Thursday after days of tackling demanding terrain and high-altitude stages, a circuit stage around Qilian greeted the field.

Thursday, bringing the 7th stage of the race. The riders would be doing ten laps of the course and would cover a total of 104 kilometres.

Iran’s Tabriz Petrochemical Team, featuring race leader Hossein Alizadeh, set the pace for the peloton for most of the day while cyclists from China’s Champion System Pro Cycling Team tried to break away, but failed.

Most of the riders were able to stay with the pack, which led to a sprint finish and Ino Ilesic with the US TT1 team would break the line to take the win in 2 hours, 15 minutes and 32 seconds.

Tabriz’s ALizadeh remains in control of the overall leader’s yellow jersey.
