Li Xueying won China’s second weightlifting gold medal as she dominated the women’s 58-kilogramme category.

Li set Olympic records in the snatch and total weight but missed a world record attempt in her final clean and jerk lift. The 22-year-old Li lifted 108 kilos in the snatch and 138 kilos in the clean and jerk for a total of 246 kilogrammes.
