After a first round exit at the Olympics, China's Li Na was looking for a return to form at her first tournament since the London Games, the Rogers Cup in Montreal. And the Chinese tenth seed would make it to the final where she faced fifth seed Petra Kvitova.

The fifth-seeded Czech struggled early and fell behind 3-games-to-1 before finding her range and charged back to take the lead.

Kvitova saved three break points to take a 6-5 lead, and then won the set on her fifth break point against the 10th-seeded Li.

In the second set, Li raced out to a 4-love, en route to a 6-2 win.

But Kvitova got her game back for the third, hammering shots deep in the court that Li could not return, and breaking her Chinese opponent at 3-2. Kvitova would hold serve the rest of the way and punctuated the win with an ace on match point.
