With the 2012 London Paralympics just around the corner, organizers have transformed the London Olympic Park and the athletes’ village to better serve the new heroes set to take center stage.

At the London Olympic Stadium, the huge "Olympic Rings" emblem has been removed, with "The Agitos," the symbol for the Paralympic Games to take its place over the next few days.

New signs have been put in place, sidewalks have been widened and seating system inside and outside stadiums have been modified for the special needs of Paralympians and audience.

In the athletes village, workers used only five days to retrofit all facilities according to barrier free design specs. Organizers hope the Paralympics will ride on the momentum of London 2012 and create lasting memories for the athletes from around the world.
