Runner Zhang Lixin named China's flag-bearer for Paralympics

The 2012 London Paralympics will officially get underway on Wednesday with a gala Opening Ceremony in the British Capital. China has sent a total of 282 athletes to compete in the games, and has announced their flag bearer for the opening ceremony.

Zhang Lixin, who calls Dalian home, has been named as China’s flag bearer for the opening ceremony. Zhang had a fantastic Paralympics four years ago here in Beijing, as he won gold medals in the men’s 200 meters and 400 meters for his category. The Chinese also grabbed gold medals in the men’s 4×100 and 4 × 400 meter relays. As he gets ready for a third Paralympics, Zhang says he is once again in peak condition.
