China’s Paralympic weightlifting team grabbed an enviable 9 golds and 14 medals in total four years ago in Beijing. The golden team though, has drawn much attention from the anti-doping authorities as soon as they arrived in London.

Most athletes attended two checks in their first two days in the British capital. Last Thursday, all athletes had to undergo both blood and urine tests. The unexpected frequency of the tests has caused some trouble, but the team says they are adjusting the athletes’ schedules according to plan.

The Weightlifting competition will start on Thursday with 16 Chinese athletes looking to repeat their success from Beijing.
