At London 2012 Kuwaiti athlete Hamad Al-Adwani is taking part in his fourth Paralympic Games as a wheelchair track athlete. The 39 year-old will compete in the 100 and 400 metres events and says his times are promising. While Al-Adwani is already a Paralympic Champion he hopes to add to his successes before embarking on a new phase in his career.

Hamad Al-Adwant, Kuwaiti wheelchair racer, said,"My debut was in 1995 in Sydney. I took part in several major championships and won my first Paralympic medal in Sydney 2000. I took bronze in the 100 metres. After that, I went to Athens 2004 where I earned three medals, one gold in the 400 metres and I set a new record. I also participated in the 100 and 200 metres and took silver in both. My participation in London 2012 will be the last for me as an athlete. I’m going to compete as a champion. My wish is for another great achievement in these games. There is no doubt that I have another ambition which is to develop my coaching skills in Paralympic sports. I have so much experience under my belt and I will try to benefit other athletes in my country, Kuwait, and in other Gulf countries as well. The wheelchair men’s events are so exciting, interesting and fast and I will offer my expertise in the best interests of Arab countries."
