Pistorius set a new world record in 200m T44

We begin tonight, with the London Paralympics where the star of this year's event, Oscar Pistorius was back in action on Sunday night. The Blade Runner, back in the blocks for the men's 200 metres in the T44 category. Pistorius set a new world record in the heats of the event, and he was looking to once again wow the the 80,000 strong crowd at the London Olympic Stadium in the finals.

The South African appeared to have the gold in the bag as he came off the final bend in the lead and raced clear down the home straight, but Brazilian Alan Oliveira reeled him in to take gold in 21.45.

Pistorius, finishing just seven hundredths of a second behind amid stunned silence from the huge crowd. The South African claimed after the race that it wasn't fair, suggesting Oliveira ran with longer prosthetics than should be allowed.
