The formula one season moves to Singapore this weekend for the annual night race around the picturesque Marina Bay Street Circuit.

It is the 14th in a 20 race season and is widely considered one of the most open championships in recent years. Ferrari has earmarked Singapore and the following two races in Japan and South Korea as the decisive period of the season.

Formula One points leader Fernando Alonso says Sunday’s Singapore Grand Prix could be the turning point of the season, ending McLaren’s recent dominance. Alonso holds a handy 37-point buffer on top of the standings despite not winning since the German GP, and is enjoying the relative luxury of that lead.

Fernando Alonso, Ferrari Driver, said, "Yes I think it’s one of the best Grand Prix or for sure the most spectacular race of the year because it’s at night and it’s at different times that we go through this weekend, so for me it’s sure the most spectacular. To drive for sure there are circuits more challenging like also Suzuka Circuit, the layout, etc., but in terms of the overall weekend this is spectacular."
