Barcelona hold first training session

07-30-2013 16:22 BJT

Last year’s La Liga champions Barcelona were on the pitch for their first training session of the season. The team which has some of the biggest stars in the world has added another recently with Brazilian striker Neymar no less.

Training here in sunny Spain the former Santos striker will pair-up with Lionel Messi, what a scary thought that is. Neymar’s presence has shifted the media’s focus away from their new coach -- Gerardo Martino, who replaces Tito Vilanova after a re-occurence of throat cancer.

Martino says he won’t make many changes to the squad that is considered one of Europe’s best. Barca have an exhibition game scheduled against Neymar’s former team this Friday, before playing two friendlies in Thailand and Malaysia. They begin their La Liga campaign in three weeks time.
