There was one more gold for the USA on Tuesday as their golden day in the pool continued in the men’s 100m backstroke.
Matt Grevers, who was looking to back up his win from London kept the winning ways of the US going as he looked to back up his win in the 100 backstroke from the London Olympics. France’s Jeremy Stravius took advantage in the first 50 meters, but Grevers made a furious dash over the final 50m and touched in a time of 52.93 seconds, with compatriot David Plummer taking silver and Stravius settling for the bronze.
