Blues face Real Madrid in Wednesday's final

08-06-2013 10:26 BJT

Chelsea set up a showdown with Jose Mourinho’s former club Real Madrid on Sunday after beating AC Milan 2-0 in the semi-final of the International Champions Cup pre-season tournament in the United States.

The chance to take on Real Madrid in Wednesday’s final was the prize on offer for Jose’s news team and it was the English Premier League outfit which showed the greater desire and created the clearer chances.

Eden Hazard ran at the Milan defence and squared the ball for an unmarked Kevin De Bruyne, who scored with ease.

Milan might have snatched an equaliser in the second half. The lively M’Baye Niang crossed from the left and Chelsea substitute keeper Mark Schwarzer failed to reach the ball - he was fortunate that Riccardo Montolivo’s header was not on target.

In stoppage time, Victor Moses set up Andre Schurrle in the heart of the Milan penalty area and the Germany international scored with a crisp first time shot. So 2-0, Chelsea now go on to face Real in the final.
