Man Utd turn down 2nd Chelsea offer for Rooney

08-07-2013 16:42 BJT

Welcome back we turn to football, and the Premier League where Manchester United have finished their pre-season preperations with a 1-all draw against AIK Fotboll in Sweden. But, as expected, it was a man who wasn’t even playing who continues to be in the spotlight.

Man United took on AIK in Stockholm. Robin Quaison putting the Swedish side ahead with a splendid strike in the second half.

Robin van Persie kept wasting chances for United, but it was Chilean striker Angelo Henriquez who saved the day in the 68th minute, with his first senior goal for the "Red Devils".

Afterwards, United boss David Moyes faced more questions about Wayne Rooney’s future.

The England striker didn’t travel to Scandinavia after injuring his shoulder in a friendly against Real Betis at the weekend.

But rumours continue surrounding Rooney, and a possible move to Chelsea, despite United turning down two bids from their Premier League rivals.

Q1. What reaction has there been from Wayne with regard to this latest show of interest from Chelsea?

"I don’t know, I’ve not asked him."said David Moyes, Manchester United manager.

Q2. Are you in a situation where you have to convince him that his future lies... or I suppose almost, you know, have to settle it down a little bit?

"You don’t need to convince anybody to play for Manchester United." said Moyes.
