After a tentative early period Inter went ahead in the 29th minute. This first time shot catching the Italian keeper by surprise and Ricardo Alvarez putting away the rebound.

Buffon managing to stop it but failing to hold on and he’s got no chance from the follow up shot.

The Turin side were handed a lifeline though before the break when they were awarded a penalty following a foul on striker Mirko Vucinic.

Arturo Vidal stepping up and slotting home the spot kick to tie the match at 1-1. And that's how things remained until full time and so to penalties.
