Liverpool set for leading Arsenal

11-01-2013 17:32 BJT

The title credentials of leaders Arsenal and third-placed Liverpool will come under scrutiny when they meet in a heavyweight English Premier League clash on Saturday. The Reds are two points behind the Gunners so a win at the Emirates for Brendan Rodgers'side would see them overtake Arsenal. At a news conference on Thursday Rodgers said that Liverpool were "fighting to be in the race" with the likes of Arsenal, Manchester City and Chelsea this season, but wouldn’t be baited when he was asked whether his side were title contenders.

"We won't get carried away, we have to keep our concentration and continue to work very hard every day on the training field and that has brought success over a period of not just this early part of the season, since the turn of the year really," Brendan Rodgers, manager of Liverpool, said.
