Bayern Munich doesn’t really need much help right now, being arguably the best team in the world. But life’s not fair, and they have made another big signing, this time it’s the Polish striker Robert Lewandowski, who’s just agreed to a 5-year deal.

Leaving on a free contract, Lewandowski has become the second top Borussia Dortmund player after Mario Gotze, to leave for arch-rivals Bayern in less than a year. The 25-year-old signed a pre-contract agreement, and will see out the rest of his contract with Dortmund, which runs until the end of this season.

Lewandowski’s departure had been expected for a long time, while Bayern have continually strengthened their squad in the last few seasons. The prolific striker will no doubt add to Bayern’s dominance in Germany, where they won the Bundesliga title by a massive 25-point margin from Dortmund last season.
