The seventh round of China-U.S. Strategic and Economic Dialogue (S&ED) and the sixth round of High-Level Consultation on People-to-People Exchange (CPE) started in Washington DC on June 23, 2015. The meeting will be co-chaired by Chinese Vice Premier Wang Yang and State Councillor Yang Jiechi, with US Secretary of State John Kerry and Treasury Secretary Jacob Lew.

Chinese Finance Minister Lou Jiwei was part of the delegation to the talks in Washington. In a media briefing, he said the Chinese economy is in the "New Normal" phase of economic growth, and that GDP figures are not the only measure of a country's development.

Chinese investment in the US reaches 46 bln USD

Figures from the US National Committee on US-China Relations shows Chinese investment in the United States totalled 46 billion US dollars from 2000 to 2014. Investment largely flowed into the U.S. through newly established Chinese firms and overseas mergers.
